This week Marin County Firefighters worked with our Conservation Corps North Bay partners to offer their team S-212 Wildland Fire Chainsaw training. This 3-day course is meant to teach individuals how to safely handle chainsaws and their tactical wildland fire application. Today, our Academy cadets geared up in full PPE—helmets, gloves, fire-resistant clothing, and chaps—before diving into the S-212 Wildland Fire Saw Class. Safety comes first, so they took their time learning every component of the saw, from the throttle to the chain brake. Understanding how it all fits together ensures they’ll operate with confidence and precision both in training and on the fireline.
